I’ve been making hoods or snoods, which I’ve found really practical in cold weather and using up some leftover yarns. I did have to buy some new yarn to accompany the leftovers and hold them double.
Started with an Italian cast on, instead of normal cast on as is my preferred method now. Started with a size 4, which was my first mistake, I was going for size 6. It's so easy to do the wrong thing sometimes...
Third in the three part series of Nordic jumpers - danish patterns and nordic wool. This one is the Zipper Sweater Light. I'm excited to be finishing this series and using up all the wool I bought. I'll probably do a mini round of left over yarn projects
Project has started well. Stockinette is knitting up relatively quick. Am on the body section now. After this the neck collar and the two sleeves. I'm holding one strand of the Gotland yarn, and one strand of alpaca silk.
This pattern has been a joy to knit, because its one of the first jumpers I've knit top down and I love seeing the progress and you can try it on as you go. I'm also obsessed with the raglan stitches, and the rib lace pattern.
For a few YEARS now, I've wanted to make a jumper or cardigan for my partner. Given that I've made quite a few jumpers for myself over the years, this should be so difficult right?
This is a vintage pattern I found on Etsy. I used the leftovers from previous jumper projects and made this lovely striped top. I really like the pattern, I
This is a free Ravelry pattern. I made this was home spun cotton. I love how it turned out, its cropped, perfect for summer basic top.
This is the Soulmate Cardigan by Wool and the Gang. The last of the 3 kits I ordered all at once. I'd wanted to make a knit with a collar on it for a while.
This is the Sanches Sweater by Wool and the Gang. I bought it as a kit. I choose this white specled cotton yarn, which I really enjoyed.
This pattern is from Wool and the Gang. It was my first time working with Mohair yarn. I think it's knit was just Mohair. It was fun working with a new yarn and the pattern was also interesting. I did wear it a lot for the first few months, but its very f
This was a leftover yarn project, or at least it turned out that way. I had a lot of this grey yarn from undoing a jumper I had made previously for my partner. I think it turned out much too big and eventually I frogged (unwound) the whole thing. I decide
Lost the pattern to this one unfortunately. Gifted these to my niece and nephew. I think they turned out really cute. I like how its a matching set with inverse colours.
This is home spun cotton. I decided to try dyeing the yarn instead of keeping it white. The think the dye was much too bright, the colour isn't very nice.
This pattern is the "Little Blue Bunny" on Etsy. I made it with home spun Alpaca. This is the second bunny of this pattern I made, I just found it so cute.
This is home spun alpaca wool. I made this toddler sized cardigan with raglan increases. This was just a small project to test out the alpaca on a garment.
This was a hand spun alpaca of Alpaca. I made this from a pattern on Ravelry. It's supposed to have sleeves, but I ran out of yarn so turned it into a sleeveless version instead. I like the diamond detailing all around and it being alpaca is super soft.
How cute is this goose? I love making the little clothes and details on these animals. The bag is home spun alpaca, most of the clothes and goose is also home spun sheep.
Not sure where this pattern is from, thought probably not too hard to reverse engineer. I made this with white cotton yarn and some leftover alpaca at the bottom.
This was a pattern I found on Ravelry. I made a few versions of this, some had frills on, in green and pink. Haven't tested them on any babies, so not sure how it wears, but looks cute on the floor!
I made this with home spun wool, the browns and grey was a dark Wensleydale sheep I bought online. The white was from our sheep flock in Belgium. This turned out really cute. I can't find the pattern I used unfortunately, but would make it again if I coul
This was a beast of a project, that I powered through. I remember making this while my garden was being redone and had gardeners in and out for a few weeks. It was fun doing all the squares. Sometimes you had to do like 8 of a particular square which was
Originally I was planning to doing another set of octagonal plant pots, like my original pot I made in a woodworking workshop with an instructor. However, I think the bevelled edged angles I need are too complicated / too scary for me to cut. I
Started this project just before Christmas. I used leftover plywood I had from making the storage cupboard. I wanted to make this mainly for the extra handy storage, but also to continue practicing my skills.
This cabinet is my plan to store all the new tools I've acquired for woodworking, and hopefully some existing tools like my sewing machine. I know its a big project, but I think it'll be a good all rounder to learn a few new skills and techniques.
Throwing in two side projects, while my tool cupboard is underway. I was going to have a lot of the thin 6mm plywood left over, so while I had it on the table to cut it down
This is a quick little project to practice dovetails before the real project of the tool cupboard. This turned out much more difficult than expected... Well, I did expect it to be difficult and given I hard it is to just saw in a straight line, a perfect
Two mini projects I'd like to do here. One is the dovetail template. This will help me draw out the same angles each time. I could make 3 templates; one 1:6 one 1:7 and one 1:8. The 1:7 is the angle that is used most I believe. Here is an article on how t
This was a simple project, really a way to practice squaring edges with planes. I glued and nailed the hook parts to the board. The main consideration is making sure its exactly square, as I'll be using this a references for future projects.
My first wand attempt, went well at first... then just as I was about to finish it, it snapped in half. The wood I collected was quite old already - I found it outside in the park.
This summer I joined a woodworking studio for a brief period, where you pay for three hour sessions and get to use all their power tools with guidance from the owner. That was also a good experience for me, getting to learn how these tools worked and lear
This has been a fun project to work on. Basically my second woodworking project, the first being seed trays i made from some spare materials. Both of these I did in a workshop studio, with the help / instruction of a professional.
Halloween is coming up and I have a niece and newphew (2 and 4 years old) that will be dressing up and trick or treating of course. A

This was my first crochet pouffe. I filled it with plastic waste. I love how this turned out. I've made many more since this one, but this has always been the favourite, and it's still featuring in my living room.

One of my most consistent cotton spins yet. Love how it turned out.
