It has been some time since my last newsletter… a long holiday abroad is the main reason for it and while I did bring along my knitting, not much else happened in the craft avenue of my life.

It was a slow week last week, not too much progress. I’m taking a short break from the field for a few weeks, now there is not much prepping left to do before the hedges and trees come in.

I’m off to my field this morning, I should hurry up and get there. Will do some more bean planting, not hugely excited about the effort required, but keen to try my new twister tool, which has now arrived. Let’s see how it goes…

This week I have been making up for my woodworking stall the past few weeks and have gone full steam. It started with dovetail and box joint practice.

I’ve spent the week mocking out the layout, starting with around 30 trees. I have a master spreadsheet now, which I’ve made a grid out of. Each square / cell represents one square metre.

The week started with me hurting my back. Not exactly sure how it happened, I just woke up one morning with so much pain that I could barely move or walk around.

This was a proper week of woodworking. The wood arrived last week Friday, and I got started on it the next day. I started sawing the massive sheets (2.4m x 1.2m) of plywood in garden. I have a handsaw and it was heavy going…
