Soulmate Cardigan

[Pre Blog Project]

This is the Soulmate Cardigan by Wool and the Gang. The last of the 3 kits I ordered all at once. I'd wanted to make a knit with a collar on it for a while. The yarn is Alpaca Merino mix, so nice and soft. I knit it a small smaller, and perhaps that is one regret. It is a small fit, you can see a bit on the sleeves. I have worn it quite a bit though, best in spring, summer in the UK. The buttons can bit a pain sometimes if they don't stay on properly, and I prefer cardigans buttoned up. If I were to do it again, I would make the sleeves a bit of a longer and looser fi...

Sanches Sweater

[Pre Blog Project]

This is the Sanches Sweater by Wool and the Gang. I bought it as a kit. I choose this white specled cotton yarn, which I really enjoyed. The pattern was also quite fun with the detailed rows. This project was part of 3 kits I bought from Wool and the Gang in a moment of inspiration. I may have been worried that I over committed to making 3 jumpers back to back, but they were all so different and fun!

I wear this a reasonable amount in the summer, if its a bit chilly. The fit is good...

Cannes Cardigan

[Pre Blog Project]

This pattern is from Wool and the Gang. It was my first time working with Mohair yarn. I think it's knit was just Mohair. It was fun working with a new yarn and the pattern was also interesting. I did wear it a lot for the first few months, but its very fluffy and airy, so suitable for a certain type of weather... probably best in between season, not too cold or warm.

I think it looks really nice though as a statement cardigan. ...

Leftover Cardigan

[Pre Blog Project]

This was a leftover yarn project, or at least it turned out that way. I had a lot of this grey yarn from undoing a jumper I had made previously for my partner. I think it turned out much too big and eventually I frogged (unwound) the whole thing. I decided to make this cardigan instead, not sure which pattern it was.

I started running of the grey yarn around the sleeves, so started working both sleeves in parallel until it ran out, so I could change colours in an even way i.e. have both sleeves the same. I started using up other small amounts of yarn I had in my stash. This worked until I reached sleeve cuff, I just had nothing yet! So the only part ...

Kids Gloves and Mittens

[Pro Blog Project]

Lost the pattern to this one unfortunately. Gifted these to my niece and nephew. I think they turned out really cute. I like how its a matching set with inverse colours. The mittens may have come out a little small. It's hard making things for other people, not your size, as you have no idea if it will fit until you gift it.

I like the idea and would make again.

Kids Blue Jumper

[Pre Blog Project]

This is home spun cotton. I decided to try dyeing the yarn instead of keeping it white. The think the dye was much too bright, the colour isn't very nice. The jumper turned out ok, the pattern is simple. Might have gifted this... But don't remember.

I wouldn't try dyeing again in a hurry, or at least with these strong synthetic dyes.
