Faber Forest - Introduction to the Forest Plan
Here I will be documenting the journey from converting a field into a forest. In the summer of 2024, I purchase 3.5 acres of land in Kent, England. I plan to plant an edible forest on this plot filled with fruit trees, berry bushes, herbs, flowers and fungi. Over the past few months, I have been research permaculture principles and species that are native and hardy to the UK. I will be creating my own layout design for the forest and experimenting as I go.
Until this point, I have grown a fruits and vegetables in my small back garden for the last few years. I won't pretend I have much more experience in growing or agriculture or permaculture. I will be learning as I go and will probably result in a lot of trial and error.
