26 October - 1 November
It was a slow week last week, not too much progress on projects. I’m taking a short break from the field for a few weeks; there is not much prepping left to do before the hedges and trees come in. They won’t be ready for delivery until late November. For the hedges, one set will go alongside the footpath to give myself a bit of a shield from the hundreds of dog walkers (nice though they are), I need to plant every 30cm in two rows of zig zag; five plants per metre.
I’ve been wanting to try cheese making for a while, and although I’m not there yet, I did make some cream cheese e.g. ricotta for the first time. Worked out really well and was quite simple. I had home made bagel and homemade cream cheese for a few lunches this week, so satisfying.
The third jumper "Zipper Sweater Light" is coming along quite well, finally on the main body, so its straight in the round.
It was already Thursday before I continued working on the tool cupboard this week, but make loads of progress in one day. I’m almost done now, just need to add some additional wheels to the doors to prevent it falling over. I hope the extra wheels will make it stable, otherwise it will continue to be a big hazard and I’d have to fix it to the wall. I think I’ll keep the finishing on the inside relatively rough, and maybe do a bit on the outside to smooth and stain it.
Short one this week.

Hi there I'm Charlotte from London and I am a Millennial hobbiest. By that I mean I love making things, for both the process and the outcomes. On this blog I talk about all the things I'm working on and learning each week. On some projects I will go into a bit more detail on what I did and my experience through it.
Some facts about me:
- I am not a perfectionist, preferring to complete something than to attempt to make something flawless.
- I am in a constant cycle of building up inspiration, executing the ideas, then winding down to reflect and regenerate.
- I am interested in almost anything that can be made from scratch using nature / natural materials.
