I should be getting back to weekly updates now as I’m finally back in a good groove. I have a bit more time to dedicate to craft.
I’ll start with the field as always. My lawnmower is going strong, I’ve done another session on it. Aiming to trim all the grass in the planted area, about 40m x 50m (I should check). I think this should take 3 days of work in total, around 8 hours of mowing. I’ve got one more session to do, then I can move on to some other tasks. The good thing about cutting the grass now is that it won’t grow back until spring. Come spring, I’ll need to be strategic about how often I cut it, and maybe I leave out some areas, just to reduce on time.
Moving on, a bit of crafting at home. I’ve repurposed some old tracksuits into scrunchies. My go-to make for old fabrics is scunchies, as you may know. The tracksuit material is nice and soft.
My main knit is a men’s cardigan, which is taking its time. I’ve dedicated a lot of time to it already, and am only on panel 2 out of 5. It’s going well though, this time I chose a different pattern than previous attempts. This one has a cardigan stitch, which is like a half rib on one side. That means it does take a while to knit that side, but the texture is worth it. It’s a mindless knit, so I can take it wherever I go.
I’ve paused on the knitted squares for now while I’m in the cardigan groove, but I definitely will be coming back to it.
Finally, I got inspired one day to try a twelve-stranded braid, after watching a video on vikings. It turned out really nice, so now I want to make a bag to go with the strap.

Hi there I'm Charlotte from London and I am a Millennial hobbiest. By that I mean I love making things, for both the process and the outcomes. On this blog I talk about all the things I'm working on and learning each week. On some projects I will go into a bit more detail on what I did and my experience through it.
Some facts about me:
- I am not a perfectionist, preferring to complete something than to attempt to make something flawless.
- I am in a constant cycle of building up inspiration, executing the ideas, then winding down to reflect and regenerate.
- I am interested in almost anything that can be made from scratch using nature / natural materials.
